On the anniversary of Climategate the Watermelons show their true colours

The Telegraph- November 19 2010

by James Delingpole

Watermelons: green on the outside, red on the inside. This is the theme of my forthcoming book on the controlling,  poisonously misanthropic and aggressively socialistic instincts of the modern environmental movement. So how very generous that two of that movement’s leading lights should have chosen the anniversary of Climategate to prove my point entirely.

The first comes courtesy of German economist and IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer who has openly admitted what some of us have been saying for some time: that “Climate Change” has nothing to do with man’s modest and thoroughly unthreatening contribution to global mean temperatures, nor even with the plight of baby polar bears so sweet you could almost hug them if you didn’t know they’d take your arm off in a trice. All it is, really, is a Marxist exercise in minority grievance-mongering and wealth redistribution on a global scale.

Global Cooling and the New World Order

The Telegraph- 26 September 2010

by James Delingpole

Bilderberg. Whether you believe it’s part of a sinister conspiracy which will lead inexorably to one world government or whether you think it’s just an innocent high-level talking shop, there’s one thing that can’t be denied: it knows which way the wind is blowing. (Hat tips: Will/NoIdea/Ozboy)

At its June meeting in Sitges, Spain (unreported and held in camera, as is Bilderberg’s way), some of the world’s most powerful CEOs rubbed shoulders with notable academics and leading politicians. They included: the chairman of Fiat, the Irish Attorney General Paul Gallagher, the US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke, Henry Kissinger, Bill Gates, Dick Perle, the Queen of the Netherlands, the editor of the Economist…. Definitely not Z-list, in other words.

Which is what makes one particular item on the group’s discussion agenda so tremendously significant. See if you can spot the one I mean:

The 58th Bilderberg Meeting will be held in Sitges, Spain 3 – 6 June 2010. The Conference will deal mainly with Financial Reform, Security, Cyber Technology, Energy, Pakistan, Afghanistan, World Food Problem, Global Cooling, Social Networking, Medical Science, EU-US relations.

Climategate Was No Fluke

The Brown Daily Herald, 7 September 2010
 Dominic Mhiripiri

The mainstream alarmist posturing on climate change by the likes of Al
Gore, regardless of whether it meets the demands of scientific accuracy
or not, is resetting political priorities and imposing billions of
dollars in costs for governments the world over.

Sustained inquiry, debate and scrutiny around the dealings of those
involved - from scientific practitioners to powerful policymakers - are
not only inevitable, but are also absolute imperatives. The taxpayer,
after all, funds most of the climate research and his life is vastly
affected by the domestic and international policies that it shapes. In
particular, emerging economies across the world grapple with the burden
of international pressures to "green up" versus their own aspirations to
fully industrialize.

In that regard, the sensational November 2009 revelation of deplorable
practices by leading climate change scientists cannot have been some
blind chase driven by ideology, but a significant and irreversible turn
in one of the greatest geopolitical debates of all time. Notwithstanding
the supposed exonerations of the Climate Research Unit (CRU) scientists
in question, their behavior remains unscrupulous. Moreover, for those
manning the frontiers of an issue with such enormous global
implications, "hiding the temperature decline" and destroying emails
with critical evidence strikes me as just outright unacceptable.

A lot you haven't told us

The Daily Telegraph- by Tim Blair-                                                                            28  February 2011

DEAR Prime Minister Gillard, Thank you for making the weather nicer by forcing us to pay more for everything. Who knew  that fixing the global climate was so simple? Still, one or two questions remain about your new plan and a few related matters.

Yours in climate justice,

Tim

Which ‘climate science’ does Minister Smith accept?

New Zealand Climate Science Coalition press release, 25 January 2011

In response to the NZ Herald article which can be accessed at:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/environment/news/article.cfm?c_id=39&objectid=10701192&ref=rss

Climate Change Issues Minister Nick Smith has been called on to amplify his statement to the New Zealand Herald’s Brian Fallow last Saturday: “We accept the science” relating to global warming and the forthcoming review later this year of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).

Fallow had written: “The review, to be chaired by David Caygill, is a statutory requirement. It is expressly not to revisit the issues, debated at tedious length for at least the past decade, about whether New Zealand should be taking action on climate change at all or whether an emotions [sic] trading scheme is the most appropriate response.”

NASA's Hansen: Dictatorship Can Save the Earth

From: New American

by James Heiser  21 January 2011

As the tortured science which is invoked to support the theory of anthropogenic climate change continues to lose its credibility in the eyes of the American public, it appears that some of the theory’s advocates are weighing the virtues of using blunt force to impose the changes they believe are necessary to "save the world." Consider, for example, Dr. James Hansen (left) of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, who seems to believe that Western freedoms may be part of the problem, and that Chinese tyranny may be able to lead the way to a greener future.

Hansen has long been one of the leading advocates of the theory that human activity is causing global warming; his congressional testimony in 1988 was a significant factor in raising the credibility of the controversial theory. And Hansen has certainly not shied away from controversy in the past: In 2006, Hansen publicly accusing the Bush administration of pressuring him to censure his research on global warming, and in 2009, he was arrested during a protest against coal mining in West Virginia — a stunt he repeated in 2010 in Washington, D.C.

But now Hansen is pointing to a China as a model for addressing global warming.

Monckton on proposed Aussie "Cap & Trade"

Earth's climate crisis ain't necessarily so

WHILE the Gillard government's climate-change parliamentary committee plots to wreck Australia's economy with a rigged market to make motoring and electricity unaffordable as soon as the new Greens-infected Senate starts work in July, thoughtful pollies are at last - privately, quietly - beginning to ask the Gershwin question.

What if it ain't necessarily so? Suppose there's no climate crisis?

The Romans used to farm out tax collection to "tax farmers" such as St Matthew. The cap-and-tax boondoggle is a tax-farming scam to impoverish the working man and enrich the new tax farmers: bankers, traders, ministers, officials and media moguls. None of them saints.
