If you’re like me, a denizen of western civilization, the United Nations has targeted you and me. The crosshairs are trained on how we use energy and the intent is to change our energy generation methods and sources. This is a way for the UN to rule our future.

The UN firmly and unambiguously believes that using fossil fuels to power our civilization will destroy the climate of the world. Well, at least that’s what they say in public. Christiana Figueres was the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held at Cancun Mexico late last year. At the start of the convention she stated “We are all aware of how critical low-carbon growth is. While current energy generation contributes 80 percent of total CO2 emissions, global demand for energy is set to increase by up to 30 percent by 2030, especially in developing countries, which need reliable energy to grow their economies. In order to avoid a technological lock-in that could be disastrous for the next generation, decisions on both energy sources and energy use need to be made now.” (Emphasis ours. Neither I nor many of my friends would be part of that all.) It is interesting that she says “especially in developing countries, which need reliable energy to grow their economies.” Trouble is that wind and solar power, the darlings of the environmentalist religion, are the least reliable energy sources available. The reason she says this is because the debate is not really about energy; it’s about power and not the type that’s generated to make electricity.

What Figueres’ statement translates to is that the United Nations wants to stop the western world from using fossil fuels. They want to control the energy policy of the United States and all developed nations as a means to an end. Ms. Figueres and the others at the convention have a goal of re-inventing the way we make and use energy into their vision of the future with no regard to our national sovereignty or prosperity. In fact there is a not so hidden disdain for our prosperity. At the end of the convention she went on to say “All countries, but particularly industrialized nations, need to deepen their emissions reduction efforts and to do so quickly.” What she means is if they move fast enough maybe nobody will notice what they’re really up to.

Ms. Figueres is not blind to the fact that at least in the western world people are becoming more skeptical of the threat posed by global warming. The vast majority of people do not understand the science that disputes and crushes man-made global warming theory but they can tell when they’re being hoodwinked. In 2006 a Gallup poll showed 30 percent of Americans thought that global warming in the news was “generally exaggerated.” Today that number has increased significantly to 48 percent and shows signs of continuing an upward trend. To combat this kind of thinking the UN and particularly Ms. Figueres are making more and more alarming statements about how global warming is destroying the world now, and not some time in the distant future.

In her opening statement at the Cancun conference she said “In the arena of climate change, the list of vulnerable nations is long and growing: Tuvalu, Maldives, Kiribati, Vanuatu are looking for ways to evacuate their entire population because of salt water intrusion and rising sea levels. Sooner rather than later, island nations will have to seek refuge in other higher lying countries. Their fate is a wake up call to all of us. The floods that devastated Pakistan, Venezuela and Columbia this year are a wake up call. The wildfires that gripped Russia are a wake up call. This year’s hottest summers to-date in Japan and China are a wake up call. There will be worse impacts and no country will be exempt.” Ms. Figueres has a masters degree in anthropology with no record of any meteorological or climate education.

For her to call these weather events “wake up calls” is pure speculation from someone with no credentials in climate study. Recent data from the GRACE satellites indicate that world average sea level is increasing at a rate of 4 inches per century, half that stated by the IPCC. Floods are an annual occurrence around the world, some years have more, some fewer. Interestingly the floods in Queensland, Australia this year were made much worse by government officials moving in the wrong direction with respect to climate change. The officials were told that global warming would increase drought in the area. Believing this to be true flood abatement plans were scrapped, dams were cancelled and existing water storage areas were kept at high levels for fear of drought. This made the region much more vulnerable to the rains from La Nina that historically have always moved in when the equatorial Pacific is cooler than average as they are this year. Good planning and knowledge of historical rainfall patterns could have reduced the impacts of the flood significantly. Hot summers are historically associated with La Nina conditions in the Pacific Ocean and in years with persistent jet stream patterns during solar sunspot minimums. Figueres’ statement that “there will be worse impacts and no country will be exempt” is speculation from someone with no experience in predicting weather or climate. What these statements do show is that the United Nations will use fear and threats to drive its agenda of ruling the world by controlling energy, the key to all prosperity.

Ottmar Edenhofer is a UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change official attending the Cancun climate conference. Whether he was unaware of just how revealing he was being or just did not care that people know what the UN is really up to with these climate change conferences, he put the UN’s agenda right on the table for everyone to see. In an interview at the conference he said, “First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we (the United Nations) redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. Obviously the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free one’s self from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems of deforestation or the ozone hole.” Well there you have it, stated boldly, clearly and without contrition he spilled the beans. The United Nations uses the threat of global warming Armageddon to press forward their mission to, in their own words, expropriate the wealth of the world and distribute it as they see fit, or in other words to rule the world. This confession is out there for all to see. Why the main stream media has not reported this little inconvenient truth is evidence they approve of the mission and the method.

More recently the UN Secretary General, Ban-Ki Moon has taken the rhetoric to a higher level. He stated The worlds current economic model is an environmental “global suicide pact” that will result in disaster if it isn’t reformed.” Did he really say that? If this statement is not an attack on our way of life and our nation I don’t know what is. That “current economic model” has freed billions of people from the cycle of poverty that dominated human existence from the beginning of time. Moon wants to scrap that successful model for an untested and untried one that would be administered by him and his unelected United Nations lieutenants. Moon continued his rant saying “We need a revolution” effectively calling for the take over of the western world to, as he said “save the planet.” Moon’s tirade against the west was at the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland. Not everyone there was buying into the scary story. The president of Indonesia condemned suggestions that his nation and other developing countries should stop advancing to save the planet. Good for him!

The attempts to scare the world into complying with the UN’s demands are not unexpected. When a doctrine, prophesy or theory is failing one way to prop it up to some level of credibility is to first claim your earlier predictions have come true (the world was tied for the warmest ever in 2010 and that weather extremes are increasing) and hope people don’t actually check and see what those predictions really were or if the claims are true. Then they need to make more predictions that are even more outlandish than the original. It was only 10 years ago that leading climate scientists, governments and institutions were predicting that winters were going to shortly become milder and shorter.

There is a now famous prediction by climate scientist Dr. David Viner of the University of East Anglia, England during the spring of 2000. He said within a few years (I would say 2008 to 2010 would qualify) winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event” He went on to say “children just aren’t going to know what snow is.” The UK where Dr. Viner lives had its coldest December in over 100 years and record amounts of snow. Don’t tell anyone in the eastern United States from Florida to Georgia to Maine that winters are getting shorter, milder and less snowy, you might get hit with a snowball! And now, faced with record cold temperatures, the 13th year in a row with no global warming and snow piling up faster then the national debt the climate disaster camp is claiming all this winter weather if from, drum roll please, global warming! As the theory freezes in its tracks the claims that it is alive and well have become more and more unbelievable and not surprisingly people are losing faith in the predictions. Look for this trend to continue.

The United Nations will continue to escalate its fear tactics and spread its propaganda as the attack on the west pushes forward with renewed fervor. The attack will be coordinated from yet another climate change meeting (pep rally) this time in Bangkok, Thailand from April 3rd to the 8th. These never ending tax payer funded meetings at exotic locations around the world are basically support groups for the UN and its obedient nations. These nations are looking to cash in on “climate debt reparations” from the west extorted by the UN.

In 1956 Leon Festinger published a book called “When Prophecy Fails: A social and psychological study of a modern group that predicted the destruction of the world” In the book he stated that “The individual believer (in this case global warming and the UN’s global governance agenda) must have social support. It is unlikely that one isolated believer could withstand the kind of disconfirming evidence that has been specified.” (no global warming for 13 years, record cold and snow, public confidence in global warming theory rapidly declining etc…). He goes on to say “If, however the believer is a member of a group of convinced persons who can support each other, the belief can be maintained and the believers may attempt to persuade nonmembers that the belief is correct.” This is the reason for the endless climate change conferences with more and more extreme predictions of climate disaster and the restructuring of global warming to climate change to cover any and all weather events so that no event is outside the umbrella of disaster.

The developed world needs to be very wary of the deceitful intentions of the United Nations. In their own words, “One has to free one’s self from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore.” What it is about is the UN’s mission to remake the world into its vision of the future by convincing the developed world that it is to blame for global warming and that we need to pay up and fast, to save the planet.
