Letters to the Editor

Where are the real rural men of the National Party?
One National MP ( a women)  had the strength of character to opposes her party’s mining plans in her region. By contrast her male (rural) counterparts remain deathly silent over the Emission Trading Scheme which literally undermines a fragile rural economy.
David Carter, Lockwood Smith, Shane Ardern, Nick Smith et al were there to protest the Fart Tax a few years back. So what has changed gentlemen?
Are they therefore now all in favour of a new tax on the rural community?
Do our National MPs represent their rural electorate’s views to the Government or do they now simply represent their party’s views to the electorate - as the previous Labour government did?
