To Nick Smith from Maureen C 17 November 2009

Dear Dr Smith

We have today watched with interest Question Time and the whole ETS debate is of concern.  This morning the Prime Minister told Mike Hosking that no-one knows what it will cost because no-one knows the price of carbon.

Our question is, who decides the price of carbon, if it is the Government, how do you decide the price.  Can you please explain how you can sign up to something when you do not know or seemingly care about the cost.  In the corporate world this would not happen.  Any decent Board of Directors would be sacked by shareholders for this irresponsible act.

We rest our case.

Maureen
